About Striderm

The name 'Striderm' is derived from an amalgamation of the words 'stride' and 'derm'.  The word 'stride' is commonly associated with people in motion, while 'derm' refers to the skin.  Hence, in keeping with the evolution of  this name, Striderm products are developed with the skin of active bodies foremost in our mind.

With this clear focus, Striderm has professionally designed a range of reliable, performance-based products that are especially suited for use on the skin of active bodies. The further intention of Striderm is to bring a choice of Australian formulated and manufactured personal care products to this segment of the marketplace.

Striderm formulations draw on the specialist skills and experience of the two directors, Geoff and Cheryl Rynja.

  • Cheryl is a chemist, and a qualified cosmetic scientist with around 30 years of experience in formulating a wide range of cosmetic products in Australia. These products have sold on the domestic and international markets. Her experience has given her significant knowledge about the use and function of ingredients used in skincare products. She is an active member of the Australian Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and currently serves on their Technical Committee.
  • Geoff is also a chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and, more recently, has been awarded a PhD.  He was a competitive age grouper (track & cross counrty) in Queensland when he retired from athletics. He has a long history of participating in various physical and sporting activities, e.g., bushwalking, road racing, trail running, hashing, squash, and sailing (Hydra Catamaran World Champion 1981). He always maintained a keen interest in athletics and was encouraged by Cheryl to return to running after a gap of just over 30 years, and has now participated in various road racing events ranging from 10k to the full marathon, as well as trail runs and walks.

With the input of Geoff's sporting-based experience, Cheryl designed Striderm products to optimise their performance on the skin relative to their specific intended end use. Their development does not involve the use of animal testing programs. Striderm is the natural choice to keep you performing at your peak.
