Striderm News from 2009

November 2009: Christmas 2009 is nearly upon us. Are you shopping for that active body, e.g, partner, parent, sibling, relative, or friend, who seems to have everything? Why don't you contribute to their exercise comfort in 2010 by giving them something(s) from the Striderm product range - anti chafe lotion or cream, anti blister foot powder, SPF15 lip balm, sports massage lotion?  Of course, there is always the rich, premium body butter.  In the meantime, Striderm wishes you all the best for the Christmas Season, and a happy, active New Year.

The Noosa Triathlon 2009 has come and gone, and it's always great to observe the intensity of the competition at all levels in such events. In order to witness the action from a closer range, Geoff again did a 10k run in a team. Geoff had a slow start to the morning with his team swimmer not hitting the water until around 0900 (well after the elite triathletes had finished the full event!). Courtney Atkinson defended his 2008 title, while Emma Jackson made her breakthrough win. As a runner, it was great to watch Saturday's 5k Bolt. The men's event was won by Collis Birmingham from Martin Dent in 14:02. Lisa Corrigan took out the women's event from Sarah Jamison in 16:11.

As mentioned previously, Striderm was a product sponsor at the Brisbane Marathon Festival. It was a successful event with the Expo in a good, new location. It was good to catch up with many people over the three days, and to get unsolicited, positve. product feedback. We are pleased to report that the new Striderm Foot Powder, Anti Blister with deodorant, has been well received by the running community.

Striderm is again pleased to be associated with the Bribie Island Triathlon Series.  Then first event was held on 17-18 October 2009, with the next racescheduled for 5-6 December.  The remaining races in the series will be held on 13-14 February and 13-14 March 2010.  This year ther is a 'Kids Series' on the Saturday afternoon.  So, get along to support this event if you can.

We have welcomed Reel Celtic, a supplier to the folk dancing community, on board as a reseller.

August 2009: The Kokoda Challenge 2009 is now behind us, and Geoff is relieved that all members of his team were successful in completing this event. Congratulations to the team!! The achievement was not without incident and at times our ability to finish with our full complement was threatened. Our thanks go to our support crew led by Cheryl. 

The Gold Coast Marathon 2009 and the Noosa Half Marathon 2009 are now also over. Geoff took the opportunity to participate in an race at each event. Striderm is now looking forward to its role as a product sponsor at the Brisbane Marathon Festival 2009 in August, and at the 29th deCastella Run in Melbourne in September.

We have welcomed Sydney Running Centre, Sportsco Victoria Point and Townsville's Top Brand Cycles as resellers.

June 2009: Striderm released its new Anti Blister Foot Powder with Deodorant just in time for the Queensland Half Marathon at Doomben on 5th June 2009. The Anti Blister Foot Powder contains a unique blend of ingredients that work together on the skin of the feet to reduce friction, to repel moisture and to deodorise. This product is ideal for participants in endurance events as well as in the workplace.

Striderm was again pleased to be one of the product sponsors for the 2009 Queensland Half Marathon.  Run Inn Promotions again organised a great event.  A forecast weather change made life a little more interesting for later finishers in the Half Marathon and for those in the 2.5k run around the race course.   

The Gold Coast Marathon 2009 is nearly upon us again. It's not too late to finalise your personal care strategy by purchasing your Striderm anti chafing and anti blister products for the event.

March 2009: Striderm is pleased to report that the Stromlo Running Festival was an action-packed event. There were participation events for runners, events involving elite athletes to watch, numerous useful presentations and stories from some of Australia's retired elite distance runneres.  When he was not participating in an event, Geoff spent his time on the Striderm stall at the event expo.

The 2009 Mt Mee Classic (26th April) now includes a marathon that takes runners from Dayboro to Mt Mee through the Mt Mee State Forest. It promises to be a great (uphill) trail run, and Striderm is pleased to announce that will be supporting this event with product sponsorship.  

The Kokoda Challenge 2009 will take place in July, two weeks after the Gold Coast Marathon. Geoff has joined a team for this 96k challenge, and the team has started its training programme. Geoff is doing the Twilight Half Marathon in Brisbane to try to gauge his current level of fitness.

We welcomed the R4YL Emporium in Canberra as a reseller in February.

January 2009: Striderm is pleased to announce that it has been appointed as the "Official Personal Care Product Sponsor of the Stromlo Running Festival 2009".  

The Stromlo Running Festival will be held 27th February - 1st March 2009. Geoff looks forward to meeting many new faces at the event Expo, and to participate in some of the events.

The makeover of our product labels has now been completed.  Striderm took the opportunity to rename its Anti Chafe Lotion as Chafe No More!. The formulation of the product remains unchanged, so users can expect the same product performance.  You can check out the new labels in the product section.
