Striderm checked out the Warwick Pentath on the weekend of 21/22 May. The event is made up of five races of different types and lengths, with the sum of the distances being a full Marathon. Geoff participated in the half marathon on Saturday morning and the 10k uphill ascent on Sunday morning. It is certainly an interesting event and quite low key in comparison with the big city events.
The inaugural Redlands Koala Fun Run was held at the Cleveland Showgrounds on Sunday 29th May. This was the first fun run of this nature for some years in this district and was attended by some 500 participants. Striderm was there, so Geoff took the opportunity to do the 10k runand was able to come away with an age group win. Fellow director, Cheryl, did the 5k walk.

Striderm would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone all of the best for 2011. We hope that you had a successful 2010, and that you are now setting your activity goals for 2011 (i.e., those New Year resolutions!), Remember that Striderm products can help to improve your exercise comfort, whatever your activity.
Striderm Director, Geoff Rynja, enjoyed his first outing in the 2010 Endeavour Summer Challenge, completing seven sections over the three days. He has been warned not to be fooled by the weather, as it was relatively cool this year when compared with some other past years. It is now sad to reflect that many of the places traversed by the relay were severely impacted by tragedy on flooding during recent rainfall events in SE Queensland. Places like Grantham, Toowooma, and the Laidley Valley come immediately to mind. Our thoughts and sincere wishes, and I'm sure those of the running community, are with these people at this time.
On the weekend immediately after the Challenge, Geoff went to The Entrance to compete in the Central Coast Half Marathon. The event organisers (Central Coast Hash Hosue Harriers) said that the numbers were up threefold on the past, and attributed this to a certified course and the availability if online entry. Certainly, runners came from all over to participate, so Geoff was not the only 'out-of-towner' there, and was realy surprised when he scored an age group win in the Hlaf Marathon.
